  1. The Kishwaukee river in Marengo Township is a beautiful yet underused asset for the residents of the area.
The township is a haven for outdoor recreation w/plenty of county hiking areas, rural roads for biking, however the Kishwaukee is undeveloped for canoeing or kayaking and could help the economic development and healthy opportunities for everyone involved

    1. Thanks, Robert. The Kishwaukee sounds like a lovely place. I hope you submit your comments to IDNR.

  2. The Kish that runs through Marengo Township is a beautiful stretch of river. It would be great for it to be open to more recreational non-motorized boaters for recreation in our area. The closest water recreation, either east or west, is at least a 20-40 minute drive away.

  3. The Kishwaukee River runs through McHenry County/Marengo. It is a beautiful stretch of river that meanders quietly through the valley on the north side of town. It’s a lovely stretch of protected area with many animals and birds making it their home. Many from the community would appreciate having it open for use by non-motorized craft.
